• Burger King sold to buy-out firm for $3.26bn (£2.1bn).... Burger King is being sold to private equity firm 3G Capital in a deal valued at $3.26bn (£2.1bn), it has been announced.

• Plans for more £5 notes in cash machines.... All banks and building societies have put in place plans to begin dispensing £5 notes from cash machines, a report has revealed.

• Alcohol consumption 'continues to fall'.... Alcohol consumption in 2009 saw the sharpest year-on-year decline since 1948, figures from the British Beer and Pub Association suggest.

An Italian businessman who was dumped by his ex-girlfriend wound up so lovelorn that he paid $18,000 for a sex doll made in her image.

The doll is fully flexible and identical to the man's ex, right down to the shape of her fingernails and teeth.

He did think one thing could be improved, though.
